Ann is a sixth-generation Texan, born and raised in the Texas Hill Country, where her family has operated a ranch since 1856. Before becoming an attorney, she earned a Government degree from UT Austin, interned for the U.S. House of Representatives and the Texas House of Representatives, and worked for the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life, a nonpartisan research institute in Austin, Texas.
She then attended SMU Dedman School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. During law school, she served as Lead Articles Editor for the SMU Law Review Association. Her article, “From Blockbuster to Mobile Apps—Video Privacy Protection Act of 1988 Continues to Protect the Digital Citizen” was selected for publication in a 2017 edition of the SMU Law Review. She also externed for the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Texas and the City Attorney’s Office in McAllen, Texas.
Prior to joining Cobb & Counsel, she practiced corporate law at Vinson & Elkins, where she facilitated buy- and sell-side transactions and financings for public and private companies and supported early-stage companies with formation and corporate governance. Her transactional practice and government experience uniquely inform her practice at Cobb & Counsel, where she provides counsel to a broad range of corporations and individuals regarding regulatory compliance and civil litigation matters.
